It's been a while

Sorry for how long it's taken me to get back to blogging.  We have had a crazy few days.  Band of course is still taking over our lives and we have no social life, but we aren't complaining.

Last week was a sad day in the Rocha family.  Rick Rocha and Rob have been best friends for a very long time.  Sharing everything from ups and downs, embarrassing moments, happy moments, moments of disgust and moments of love.  The relationship doesn't stop there.  His two brothers, sister and their families have been a part of Rob, mine and the boys life for years and we consider them family.  Rick's mom passed away last week and although she had been going through a rough time health wise, it was still a shock when we received word.  It's hard to explain the feeling that comes over you when you lose a parent/guardian who has looked after you and been their your whole life, but to lose both....i cannot even begin to know what that feels like.  My heart goes out to their family.  The Rocha kids are so close to their mother and now they are the ones to continue on the Rocha legacy.  We love this family and are so happy to call them our family as well.  Pictures are on Facebook.....

Memorial Weekend

Memorial Weekend has come and gone.  We had so much to do and yet we came out of it with flying colors. Friday - This was the night of our end of the year party for work.  This is when our senior residents and fellows receive their certificates for completing their training in Radiology.  It was a great night with my coworkers and their partners.  We rarely get together anymore so when we do, it's like we pick up right were we left off. Saturday - Bel, Bella, JP and I left SA and drove to College Station to attend Trent's HS graduation.  He is the 1st of Bob & Helen's grandchildren to graduate.  WOW, I can believe when he was just a kid and now he's a man.  I also can't believe my niece is now driving!!!  Of course I was teased about stepping foot on Aggieland and I also teased that I wanted to buy some protective wear for my shoes so that I didn't actually have to touch the campus.  It was all in fun though.  J wants to go to A...

How are you doing today?  How has your week been?  We are doing great here at the Kenney-Perez household.  Last night I was stuck watching Lifetime movies....ugh-I try so hard not to watch that channel because once I start....i have to keep watching movie after movie.  Thursday nights are True Story movies based on actual events.  I feel like i'm watching Snapped in a way...Well, it was quite interesting.  Since I stayed home from work to be with Ben...i did laundry and watched Lifetime Movies..... Ben had his oral surgery on Wed. morning and he did so good..........considering. WEDNESDAY-Our day started out like this....I woke up around 8 and took a shower to wake up.  After getting dressed and making myself presentable, I put a load of laundry in the washer.  Ben's surgery was scheduled for 11:15 and poor guy couldn't eat anything after midnight the night before.  I woke the boys up and got them going.  Ben was so excited and woke u...

Vampires and Lions and Tigers and Bears...OH MY!

Oh......what have I gotten myself into? I've always had this fascination with Vampires every since I can remember.  At what point in my life did I become obsessed?  I've watched many a movie...read books....but none have had me going back for more than the Twilight saga!  In the beginning, I heard about the movie and thought I would have to see it to give it a fair opinion....I saw the movie Twilight....literally DRAGGGGGGGING my family with me on Thanksgiving weekend 2008.  My husband was NOT thrilled at my movie choice, but he was surprised that he enjoyed the movie.  From that moment on, I knew I had to read the books!  Besides, the books are ALWAYS better than the movies.   The 1st weekend of December 2009, Missy and I were in Corpus for soccer playoffs and our hotel was next to a theatre.....we got in our PJ's Saturday night and walked next door to watch the 10:30 p.m.  showing of New Moon (2nd movie).  I loved Edward until I got a l...
